Overview: Up for sale is an absolutely incredible oil on board by listed French artist, Maurice Martin (1894-1978). This painting depicts a waterfall by what appears to be the ruins of an old building. I love the depth and texture of this piece. Martin was a very well-known artist, serving as a President of the French Landscape Artists and was widely exhibited, with auction records into the thousands of dollars. It is signed at lower left. It is indistinctly titled and dated Aug 1941 on verso. Painting is unframed.

Condition: The painting is in good overall condition. It shows minor edge wear and varnish browning. Board appears to have suffered some water exposure, leaving it moderately bowed throughout and uneven on the left side.

Measurements: Painting measures approximately 13 inches high x 9.75 inches wide.
