Overview: Up for sale is this stunning woodblock print, "Red Kimono" by modernist Japanese printer, Kaoru Kawano. Kawano is well-known as one of the earliest Japanese print artists to move from traditionalist styles and themes to more modern art-style subjects. This print dates from the 1950s and is a fantastic example of his work. It depicts a woman in a red kimono and evokes the simplicity of traditional Japan and a new modern style. Print is unframed.
Condition: Print is in very good condition. Minor scuffing on the leg area of the woman. Paper is slightly bowed (likely from rolling), but should flatten out nicely.
Measurements: Print measures approximately 16.75 inches high x 11.25 inches wide.
