Overview: Up for sale is this very beautiful woodblock print, "Cherry Blossoms in Nara." It depicts the famous Sarusawa Pond in Nara. A really light and beautiful print. This print was produced by Eiichi Kotozuka. Kotozuka was born in Kyoto and was one of the major forces in the shin hanga movement. He, along with Tokuriki, Tobei and Tasaburo formed the Koryokusha publishing company in an effort to break free of the major publishing companies. I have not been able to pin down a specific date for this print, but I believe it dates to the 1950s. It would make an excellent addition once framed to any art collection. Print comes in the original folio matting.
Condition: The print and matting are in excellent condition.
Measurements: Print measures approximately 11 inches wide x 8.25 inches high. Folio backing measures 13.75 inches wide x 10 inches high.
