Overview: Up for sale is this very beautiful woodblock print, "Lake Chuzenji in Autumn" which depicts the beautiful Lake Chuzenji just outside of Nikko. This print was produced by Eiichi Kotozuka and was one of four prints in his series, "The Four Seasons of Nikko." Kotozuka was born in Kyoto and was one of the major forces in the shin hanga movement. As I understand it, this was one of Kotozuka's first prints, which he produced at the age of 22. I believe this predates his time working for the Uchida publishing company, as I do not see the "Uchida" watermark which is usually present on his prints. I am unsure if this is a later print or original, but it does appear to be quite old, dating at least to the 1940/1950 time period. Print is unframed, but comes with the original folio matting.
Condition: Print is in very good condition. Matting shows toning consistent with age.
Measurements: Print measures approximately 11 inches wide x 8.25 inches high. Folio backing measures 13.75 inches wide x 10 inches high.
