condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Maurice of California
Lovely, vintage Maurice of Calfornia ceramic dip and chips server plate from the early 1950's. On the back is the firing number so you know this is the real McCoy. About 12" in diameter, a lovely, gold-orange earthy color with fruit motifs. It has a scalloped edge with four compartments, and a circular center for the dip. In wonderful condition, no chips or cracks, it's perfect for your collection, or to serve dip and chips, crackers, veggies, fruit, with it. DO NOT dishwash or clean with harsh chemicals. Best way to clean it is to gently wash with a gentle dishwashing liquid and an old washcloth, rinse then airdry. I love this, it is just fabulous, a great piece of California pottery history from the early mid-century.
"Maurice Ceramics (aka Maurice of California) was founded by Maurice Pechman (1924-2011) in 1954 in Los Angeles, California. Pechman was born in Krakow, Poland. He survived internment at Aushwitz concentration camp. He arrived in the United States in 1950. The company produced its own line of ceramics, as well as importing pottery, glass and dinnerware from Europe and the Orient. It was in business until at least 1985."
$60 for the server plate, price FIRM, cash ONLY(please do not ask me to lower the price, the answer is no), no trades or barter, all sales final, no returns, refunds or exchanges. Thank You.
