Classic, capable, and genuinely seaworthy. This 1978 O’Day 25 Centerboard has been a trusty coastal cruiser for us. We’ve taken her up and down the California coast between Channel Islands Harbor and Santa Barbara, including anchoring around Santa Cruz Island, plus day sails in the area, sailing near Long Beach, and even time on Lake Havasu, AZ. She has never let us down.
The centerboard design is a big part of why this boat is so versatile: shallow draft for ramps and anchoring, with improved windward performance when the board is down. Standard O’Day 25 CB specs: LOA 24.83’, beam 8’, draft approx. 2.25’ (board up) / 6’ (board down), masthead sloop.
PRICE
$3,950 OBO for the boat + custom trailer, motor and includes all extra equipment listed below. (will not sell the boat without the trailer, and vice versa)
We will clean the boat inside and out for delivery.
MOTOR
Suzuki 9.9 hp four-stroke outboard, under 200 documented hours
New prop on outboard, replaced ~75 engine hours ago
Remote in-cockpit controls (forward/reverse and throttle), which makes harbor maneuvering and docking much easier
Tuned up prior to being stored on the hard. Recommend re-inspection prior to going out.
ELECTRONICS AND SAFETY
Full AIS/Mayday-equipped VHF radio with antenna
AIS receiver
Nav lights working when stored - we didn't anchor often, so kept the anchor light pretty "analog" (hoist a lamp up the mast at night). Steam light was also analog, whenever needed
4 Coast Guard–approved life jackets

Replace thru-hulls
Regalvanize anchor chains and anchors
Full inspection of all rigging and anchor rode prior to sailing
New anti-skid paint (deck)
Test the battery
Cosmetics: there is some hull oxidation, which is to be expected after two years stored on the hard.
