VERY good condition very low use. Originally was an HSS w/cream PG, standard MIM strat ceramic pickups.
Back side of the lower horn, has a cpl of scratches in the clear coat, tried to get a pic, they are hard to see. That is the only finish issue. Finish is in great condition, solid, no chips, dings or other significant scratches, this guitar lived in a case or on a wall most of its life there are signs of use, no damage, no abuse.
Significant work was invested to make this a much better instrument than the average $500 M.I.M. Strat.
I found a brand new '23 FSR - "Fender Special Run" Limited Edition loaded strat body I used for another project.
All the FSR spec. electronics, were swapped onto a brand new white pearl pickguard, and installed on this guitar. (the brand new black FSR PG is included..)
'FSR' Fender guitars get upgraded Alnico 5 pickups w/individual pole magnets and a much better quality Fender humbucker vs the standard ceramic bar magnet pickups that come on a standard Payer M.I.M. strat.
FSR guitars also get: full size pots, a proper Oak/Grigsby 5 way switch, upgraded capacitor.
vs : mini pots, chicklet cap, and a box type 5 way switch.... these upgrades alone are valued at over $100, add another $40-$50 for labor to have a guitar tech swap everything over properly ....$100-$150 +-
I had these upgrades done intending to keep the guitar...not too long after it was completed, I found a Les Paul... I sent an offer in a fit of G.A.S. and it was accepted! I had to buy it. SO, one of my MIM strats has to go, this one is by far the nicest.
Additional upgrade work completed:
- Control cavities cleaned prepped and shielded with 3 coats of shielding paint + a clear coat to seal it.
- Machined brass block saddles w/custom shortened grub screws for SUPER comfortable playing. (Original bent steel saddles included)
- Brand New chrome "F" logo heel plate installed w/new hardware. (Original chrome plate included)
- Graph-tech nut installed - nut slots professionally cut to proper depth and lubed.
- Roller string trees.
- Billet brass trem. claw w/brass hardware.
- Notched PRS tremolo screws: Improve tuning stability/trem action/performance
(Tremolo plate pivot/'knife edges' sit and 'lock' into the notches just under the heads of the 6 mounting screws where they pivot freely but are also positively located into position - both OE straight, + PRS notched screws pictured for comparison.
Provides more flexible trem setups (Higher/Lower) to preference + improved tuning stability w/tremolo use)
- Professional Setup: Fretboard edges rolled, frets leveled, ends rounded, smoothed, all frets mirror polished, no visible wear. Neck relief, string height set average low, vs super low. No buzzing
- Fretboard cleaned, treated w/Howard's Feed 'n' Wax, finished w/"Fret Dr." fretboard treatment oil,
- Br. new DiAddario EXL 9-46 strings installed.
This guitar and neck feels and plays like it has been played regularly and 'worn in' for the last 15+ years. the guitar sounds fantastic.
Tremolo bar, allen wrenches for truss rod/saddle height included.
Asking $500 no low ballers, Cash only. Not interested in a trade......
*1st person to buy the guitar for asking price, gets a br. new clip on tuner + a new MXR Prime Distortion pedal as a bonus, rarely used. Tested and working perfectly. (sounds good,..way too many OD/Distortion pedals). guitar cable, strap.
** If considering this for a new player/student,..I have a very nice solid state Kustom KT60 Combo amp available with 2-20' guitar cables, and the tuner, AND the MXR pedal, everything for $550
