Greetings:
I am currently seeking a career that allows me to serve my community, meet other equally artistic, outgoing, interesting people,and utilize my skills, education, background and experience to better the organization, the environment, and humanity as a whole.
I am an Artistic/Executive Director with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance and Arts Management from Oklahoma City University. I managed and directed the Clubhouse Dance Studio in Ventura for over 15 years. I created course curriculums, yearly dance calendars, weekly class schedules, and pricing plans, as well as managing instructors, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, advertising, and costume expenditures. I have taught tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, tumbling, breaking and ballroom dance styles to children and adults of all ages and abilities for over 20 years.
In 2002 I helped create Foothill High School’s dance department, based on high school physical education requirements, arts course guidelines, dance & fitness course goals, curriculum development, performance evaluation procedures, and attendance and class participation grading scales. I continued teaching dance and fitness classes at Foothill High School for over 10 years.
I have learned from my dance teachers & from personal experience, not only how to effectively teach dance technique, but how to engage an audience with active communication skills. I also teach students how to embrace life’s challenges and appreciate moments of accomplishment. Whether managing employees, teaching students, or engaging audiences, being aware of our diverse perceptions, and appealing to each participant’s individual goals is a key factor in leading a team or running an organization.
In my career, I have graduated from student to performer, teacher to choreographer, manager to director and from producer to proud parent in the audience.
Currently, I’m searching for employment opportunities that align with my highest self as well as the greatest potential for the future of our country and our planet.
