Position: Assistant Salon Manager

Position Summary
Grand Parlor Salon & Shave is seeking a licensed Cosmetologist or Barber who is passionate about leadership, guest experience, and business growth. The Assistant Salon Manager supports the daily operations of the salon while maintaining an active clientele, coaching team members, and helping achieve company performance goals.
This role is ideal for a motivated professional who leads by example, embraces accountability, and is committed to creating an exceptional experience for every guest.
Minimum Qualifications
* Current California Cosmetology or Barber License (required)
* Minimum two years of salon or barbershop experience preferred
* Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Professional appearance and positive attitude
* Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Essential Responsibilities
* Assist with daily salon operations
* Lead by example in customer service and professionalism
* Coach and support team members to achieve company goals
* Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
* Ensure company policies and operational standards are followed
* Help manage inventory and retail displays
* Assist with scheduling and daily workflow
* Resolve guest concerns professionally
* Maintain salon cleanliness and compliance
* Build and retain a loyal clientele
* Promote salon services, memberships, and retail products
* Foster a positive, team-oriented culture
Key Performance Metrics (KPIs)
Performance will be evaluated using measurable business objectives, including but not limited to:
* Minimum productivity per hour
* Retail sales performance
* Client rebooking percentage
* Guest retention
* Average service ticket
* Membership and promotional program participation
* Attendance and punctuality
* Leadership and team engagement
* Completion of assigned management responsibilities
* Overall contribution to salon growth and profitability
Compensation
Grand Parlor Salon & Shave offers a performance-based compensation program designed to reward leadership, accountability, and results.
Sliding Scale Pay
Compensation is based on achievement of established Key Performance Metrics (KPIs). Employees who consistently meet or exceed performance expectations may earn higher hourly compensation through the company’s sliding-scale pay structure.
Performance Bonuses
Assistant Managers are eligible to earn performance bonuses based on individual and salon performance. Bonus opportunities may include, but are not limited to:
In addition to hourly compensation, Assistant Managers may earn commissions on eligible retail sales, service upgrades, memberships, promotions, or other incentive programs offered by the company. Commission programs are subject to company policy and may be modified as business needs change.
Compensation, bonuses, and commission opportunities are reviewed periodically and are based on sustained performance, business needs, and compliance with company standards.
