Vintage Red Wing! A real stoneware crock with a wooden lid.
We used this to brine ham back on our small family farm in Nebraska. That was a very long time ago...
I made the lid a little over 40 years ago when it moved into the house as a piece of decor - no longer making our own ham by that point. It became an end table in the living room.
No cracks, in great condition! You can make a ham it in tomorrow if you really wanted to.
Based on the markings, this crock is at likely least 90 years old ... my understanding is that Red Wing made these crocks with this branding up until 1936.
